• In August of 2019, Woapink Lodge’s Leadership Executive Committee went forward in proposing the funds and making of a cedar totem pole that would be placed at Rhodes France Scout Reservation as a landmark of the lodge.
  • In pursuit of the completion of the project, one of our talented arrowmen Shane Brown used his lodge creativity to put together designs to grow inspiration from.
  • After a plan was made, a few members came together to assist in the picking up of a cedar log that was then brought to Rhodes France to be prepared to be carved. However, it was then discovered that the log picked up was too short. Fortunately, in the midst of the COVID pandemic in 2020, Christ Hubbart of Hubbart Wood Chainsaw Carving, Saw Milling, and Removal, drove to Tennessee and picked up the right log size for our totem pole and brought it back to his shop where he went to work.
  • After the talented craftsman completed his work of art, it was then brought to Rhodes France to be placed in its positioned spot with the assistance of the Camp Ranger, Andy Brookman and a few other camp helpers. Our Totem Pole was then shown for the first time to the lodge at our 2021 Fall Fellowship.
  • As 2022 came around, the next step was to create a concrete base to secure the totem pole on. Afterward, we began staining that September, and with the help of a few of our LEC members, the front of the totem pole came together with our colored outline made by another gifted Lodge artist, Shawn Renfro.

We would like to thank all who helped in the planning, preparation, and completion in making this amazing project a reality!!
